HYPE, ZEC and SOL lead altcoin rally as Bitcoin nears $78,000
Bitcoin recovered from $75,972 overnight to just below $78,000, a third straight day of gains.

Bitcoin recovered from $75,972 during U.S. trading hours to just under $78,000, marking a third consecutive day of gains and lifting the total crypto market value by about 2% to roughly $2.66 trillion.
Altcoins outpace Bitcoin
Among the major altcoins, Hyperliquid’s HYPE posted the strongest move, rising more than 11% to near $89. Zcash (ZEC) added 8% to around $1,472, and Solana (SOL) gained 6% to just above $106. Binance Coin (BNB) and Dogecoin (DOGE) each rose about 4%, while XRP, Ether and Bitcoin were up roughly 2%. TRX lagged with less than 1% gain.
Market sentiment and altcoin season index
FxPro chief market analyst Alex Kuptsikevich noted that none of the 40 most liquid coins fell during the period and that traders appear to be shifting focus toward altcoins, even though the altcoin season index remains subdued. NEAR led the altcoin group with a 30% gain, followed by UNI at 26% and APT at 18%.
Broader market context
The rally coincided with rising equities and a broader appetite for risk, coming a day after the Federal Reserve’s quarter‑point rate hike, which did not trigger the expected market reaction. Bitcoin remains near the upper edge of its established trading range around $82,000, and analysts expect profit‑taking over the weekend may delay any further advance.
