Moscow Exchange Introduces Five Crypto Perpetual Futures

Moscow Exchange will launch perpetual futures on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Tron, settled in rubles, as cumulative turnover on its crypto derivatives exceeds 600 billion rubles.

Moscow Exchange (MOEX) announced the launch of five perpetual futures contracts tied to major cryptocurrencies, scheduled for September 22. The contracts—BTCUSDF, ETHUSDF, SOLUSDF, XRPUSDF and TRXUSDF—track MOEX crypto indexes and provide continuous price exposure without delivering the underlying assets.

Cash‑settled exposure

Each contract is quoted against a US‑dollar‑denominated index, while profits and losses are settled in Russian rubles. The contracts automatically roll over daily, allowing investors to keep positions open without manual rollovers.

Access and margin requirements

Trading is limited to qualified investors who must post collateral. First‑tier minimum margin rates are set at 22 % for Bitcoin, 35 % for Ethereum, 38 % for Solana, 43 % for XRP and 30 % for Tron. MOEX also imposes concentration limits (LK1 and LK2) for each contract.

Market context

The new perpetual futures expand MOEX’s existing crypto derivatives offering, which already includes dated futures. Over 72 000 qualified investors have traded MOEX’s digital‑asset futures, generating cumulative turnover of more than 600 billion rubles.

Funding parameters

Funding rates are set at K1 = 0 % and K2 = 0.35 % for the perpetual contracts.
