Ripple partners with SettleMint to offer combined custody and tokenisation platform in APAC

Ripple and SettleMint have integrated Ripple Custody with SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, giving regulated financial institutions in the Asia‑Pacific region a single solution for custody, issuance, compliance and post‑issuance servicing.

Ripple and SettleMint announced a strategic partnership that merges Ripple Custody’s institutional‑grade storage infrastructure with SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP). The combined offering is aimed at regulated banks, asset managers and market operators across the Asia‑Pacific region.

Integrated solution for the full asset lifecycle

Ripple Custody provides configurable access controls, approval workflows and key‑management capabilities, including hardware security modules, multi‑party computation, FIPS 140‑2 Level 4, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications. SettleMint’s DALP handles token design, issuance, compliance, settlement and post‑issuance servicing on a governed platform.

Target market and rollout

The initial rollout targets regulated financial institutions in the Asia‑Pacific market. No specific institutions, implementation dates, pricing or transaction volumes were disclosed. The partnership does not mandate the use of any particular blockchain network, nor does it require the use of XRP, the XRP Ledger or Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin.

Broader context for Ripple’s custody services

Ripple has expanded its custody ecosystem through recent acquisitions and partnerships, including the purchase of Palisade (wallet‑as‑a‑service), collaborations with Securosys (cloud HSM), Figment (institutional staking) and Chainalysis (transaction monitoring). The SettleMint integration adds a token‑lifecycle management layer to this suite.

Market outlook

Ripple and SettleMint cited a Boston Consulting Group forecast that tokenised real‑world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035, representing roughly 16 % of global investable assets. The report noted that publicly visible tokenised assets were valued at about $30 billion at the time of the forecast.

Next steps

Future updates are expected to reveal participating institutions, supported blockchain networks and live production deployments. Until then, the partnership represents a technical integration rather than confirmed institutional usage.
