Stellar RWA Assets Surpass DeFi Markets, Exceeding $3 B in July

Tokenized real‑world assets (RWA) on the Stellar network have expanded dramatically, reaching more than $3 billion in July, according to an oracle provider report. By contrast, Stellar’s DeFi markets held a fraction of that value, with total value locked (TVL) measured at roughly $213 million.

Growth of Stellar RWA Supply

RedStone’s data shows Stellar’s RWA supply increased from about $785 million in January to over $3 billion in July. The surge is attributed primarily to four products:

• Amundi and Spiko Overnight Swap Fund – $713 million
• Spiko T‑Bill Fund – $536 million
• Ondo USDY – more than $533 million
• VuMe Bond 2030 – $500 million

DeFi Market Size on Stellar

DeFi TVL on Stellar remains modest. RedStone measured $213 million, while on‑chain tracker DefiLlama reported $232.72 million total TVL, with the Blend lending protocol accounting for $150.03 million.

Collateral Utilization Gap

Only a small portion of Stellar’s RWA assets is used as collateral in lending pools. Blend holds $127 million in assets, but just over $2 million is in pools that accept RWAs as collateral.

Pricing and Oracle Infrastructure

The report links the collateral gap to pricing schedules for Treasuries, credit funds, and money‑market shares, which do not align with 24/7 lending market operations. Stellar now supports 55 SEP‑40 price feeds from RedStone, covering Treasuries, corporate credit, tokenized gold, and money‑market funds. RedStone adopted the SEP‑40 standard in June.

Future Custody Plans

RedStone notes the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plans to bring DTC‑custodied assets to Stellar in 2027, with DTCC’s custodial assets valued at $114 trillion.
