Tokenized Gold Explored as Collateral for SOL Staking
Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset partners with Flowra to explore using a gold-backed digital asset as collateral to secure Solana tokens for network validators.

Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset (KorDA) and Solana infrastructure firm Flowra have signed a memorandum of understanding to evaluate the use of a gold‑backed token, KGLD, as collateral for securing SOL tokens delegated to network validators.
Collaboration Overview
The 12‑month agreement will assess a model where KGLD, managed by KorDA or an authorized affiliate, is pledged to back SOL that is then delegated to validators operating on Flowra’s platform. Operational responsibilities will be split: Flowra will supply its Solana infrastructure, while KorDA will handle validator operations, including server maintenance and key management.
Market Context
Tokenized gold has become one of the fastest‑growing categories of real‑world assets on‑chain, with a market capitalization exceeding $6 billion. Institutional demand, central bank purchases, and geopolitical uncertainty are driving this growth, positioning tokenized gold as a potential source of capital for blockchain network operations.
Planned Delegation Program
Flowra and KorDA intend to launch the Flowra‑KorDA Delegation Program (FKDP), which would allocate SOL sourced from institutional investors, lending providers, and the Solana Foundation to eligible validators. Revenue from staking rewards, block rewards, and MEV tips would be distributed according to jointly established criteria.
Regulatory and Custody Considerations
Both parties emphasize that any rollout will be subject to regulatory review and legal compliance. Flowra will not custody the gold‑backed collateral; instead, assets will be held by independent custodians, escrow accounts, or multi‑signature wallets.
