Wyoming adopts Chainlink Proof of Reserve for Frontier Stable Token (FRNT)

Wyoming adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for FRNT, adding near-real-time onchain data to its daily reserve attestations.

The Wyoming Stable Token Commission approved the use of Chainlink’s Proof of Reserve on September 2, enabling near‑real‑time on‑chain publication of reserve and supply data for the state‑issued Frontier Stable Token (FRNT).

How the verification works

The Network Firm conducts independent examinations of FRNT’s reserve balances and token supply under standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Chainlink then distributes the verification results across supported blockchains, creating an on‑chain feed that supplements the commission’s daily reserve attestations.

Benefits and limitations

  • Provides a more recent view of FRNT’s backing than the monthly reports required by the federal GENIUS Act.
  • Offers applications and market participants direct on‑chain access to reserve data.
  • Does not replace the need for financial audits, custody controls, or public reporting.
  • Reliability depends on the accuracy of the underlying examination and Chainlink’s data‑delivery infrastructure.

Secure Mint feature

Wyoming is also planning to adopt Chainlink’s Secure Mint feature for FRNT. When operational, Secure Mint will block token issuance unless verified reserves equal or exceed the outstanding supply, aiming to mitigate “infinite‑mint” risks. Implementation details such as update intervals and emergency controls have not been disclosed.

Regulatory context

Wyoming’s daily attestations and on‑chain verification are described by the commission as meeting and exceeding the federal baseline established by the GENIUS Act, which mandates monthly reserve disclosures for permitted stablecoin issuers. The state’s approach seeks to narrow the reporting gap between monthly disclosures.

Token deployment and infrastructure

FRNT launched on January 7, 2026, backed by U.S. dollars and short‑term U.S. Treasury securities. Income from the reserves supports Wyoming’s School Foundation Program. The token is available on eight public blockchains—including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and Hedera—using Chainlink’s Cross‑Chain Interoperability Protocol after migrating from LayerZero.
