    Polygon, one of many largest Ethereum layer-2 networks, has accused the DeFi lending platform Aave of adopting monopolistic practices.

    This dispute arises from a proposal to allocate locked bridge funds to yield-generating methods, which Aave opposes. Rigidity escalated after the lending protocol threatened to withdraw its deployment from Polygon’s community.

    The controversial proposal has been rejected by the Polygon neighborhood.

    In a Dec. 17 assertion, Polygon accused Aave of resorting to threats after initially supporting an identical proposal.

    In line with Polygon, Aave’s opposition stems from the involvement of Morpho, a competing protocol whose proposal gained traction as a result of guarantees of great ecosystem grants. It added:

    Moreover, Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, accused Aave of leveraging concern and centralized governance to suppress rivals. He described direct messages from Aave staff members as intimidation makes an attempt to dissuade Polygon governance from supporting Morpho’s proposal.

    Boiron known as for higher accountability, urging the DeFi neighborhood to reject monopolistic habits.
