Zcash researchers have accomplished formal verification of Ironwood, publishing a machine-checked proof that the community’s new shielded pool doesn’t comprise undetectable counterfeiting bugs underneath its said cryptographic assumptions.
On Tuesday, Mission Tachyon stated that the proof, written within the Lean programming language, includes over 2,700 theorems and took three groups of researchers and cryptographers over a month to finish. The work establishes a safety property referred to as stability integrity, designed to make sure the shielded pool can not pay out extra worth than has publicly entered it.
