The adapter maps ISO 20022 payment instructions to operations on SWIFT’s permissioned ledger, allowing banks to continue using familiar messaging formats while testing tokenized‑deposit transfers. The solution works alongside Haven’s wallet, key‑management, transaction‑signing and policy‑control components, and integrates with Hyperledger Besu.

Final Settlement Remains with Existing Systems

While the ledger can move tokenized assets around the clock, the ultimate settlement still occurs through traditional mechanisms such as real‑time gross settlement (RTGS) systems. This separation lets institutions evaluate continuous ledger‑based value movement without altering the underlying payment infrastructure.

On‑Premises Beta for Regulated Institutions

IBM also released a separate beta that runs Digital Asset Haven entirely within a client’s own data center on IBM Z and LinuxONE hardware. Both the solution layer and the key‑management layer remain on‑premises, giving regulated banks direct control over custody and transaction infrastructure while still using the same APIs and workflows as the SaaS version.
