Stripe-owned Bridge has entered the EU MiCA register following Luxembourg approval, becoming a member of regulated suppliers beneath the bloc’s crypto framework.
Bridge Constructing, the Luxembourg-based entity behind Stripe-owned stablecoin infrastructure firm Bridge, has joined the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Belongings Regulation (MiCA) register after receiving regulatory approval in Luxembourg.
Bridge’s inclusion brings the variety of MiCA-authorized digital cash token (EMT) issuers within the EU register to 42, in response to the most recent European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) replace printed on Wednesday.
The addition got here weeks after Bridge introduced on July 2 that it had secured a Crypto-Asset Service Supplier (CASP) authorization beneath MiCA and an Digital Cash Establishment (EMI) licence from Luxembourg’s Fee de Surveillance du Secteur Financier. Bridge’s Head of Product, Mai Leduc Blount, mentioned the approvals permit companies within the EU to construct stablecoin and fee merchandise beneath a regulated framework.
