BNY announced on October 8 it expanded its digital asset custody platform to select institutional clients in the European Union under the MiCA regulatory framework. Its European banking entity, The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV, holds registration on the ESMA MiCA register. The service covers crypto asset custody, administration and transfer, and supports digital cash, tokenized assets, payments, settlement and collateral mobility. BNY first launched its digital asset custody platform in 2022.
